Jungle Fever
Made for an exhibition: I Used To Be A Shirt (a challenge by the NJMQG), at the Sally D. Francisco Gallery at Peters Valley School of Craft, Layton, NJ, in Oct 2022.
It measures 21 1/2” x 21 1/2”.

Piece by Piece
The design is inspired by the work of Lyobov Popova, a Russian avant-garde artist (1889-1924), and her series of painterly architectonics. The perceived layering of the elements suggests 3-dimensionality and provides an illusion of spacial dynamic. Following an initial sketch on paper, the complexity of the piecing required creating custom foundation paperpiecing templates. It measures 15 1/2” x 15 1/2”.

Summertime
Started in an online workshop with Irene Roderick (March 2021) - Dancing with the Wall. While inspired by my longing for the beach and the summer, the design is deliberately kept abstract, yet somewhat pictorial, represented by a beach house and some waves. It measures 28” x 28”.

Casting Shadows
The concept of shadows for this design was triggered by my feelings around the pandemic, economic crisis and persistent systemic racism, and my hope that wherever there is shadow, there is light. I’m hopeful that we’re steering towards better tines, with more equality and justice, racially and socially. It measures 16” x 16”.

Let it Be
Started in Maria Shell workshop in Oct 2019 in Hudson River Valley. Originally intended to be part of a larger composition but ultimately kept as a mini. It measures 19” x 19”.

Stirring Things Up
SOLD - The design was inspired by the mathematical concept of fractions, and I created a sense of motion by interweaving the alternating colors of the quarter circles, and the spinning wheel quilting design. 16” x 16”.

Never Give Up
Never Give Up was inspired by the strength and force of the Women’s Marches in cities all over the world, and the personal experience of being in the middle of a sea of pink pussy hats in New York City. The title reflects the need to continue the fight for women’s rights, and it encourages and demands to pass the torch to the next generation, until women are truly equal under the law and in society as a whole. It measures 16” x 16”.

Improv Mini
